KIUD is FINALIST of global The Sustainability Awards Category: Reuse!

KIUD is a Finalist in the Global Sustainability Awards 2026 on Reuse category!

We have exciting news: KIUD has been selected as a finalist in the Packaging Sustainability Awards 2026, in the Reuse category – one of the most prestigious global competitions for sustainable packaging, assessed by an international panel of leading industry experts.
The winners will be announced on 11 November at the Sustainability Awards ceremony during the Sustainable Packaging Summit in Utrecht.

What we do – and why it was recognised
The Reuse category honours innovative solutions and applications of reusable or refillable packaging systems. KIUD qualified with a closed-loop reusable packaging system already operating at scale with Telia across Estonia, Norway and Finland.
Our boxes are made from post-industrial textile waste – the blended and synthetic off-cuts from pillow, duvet and sportswear production that cannot be recycled back into textiles and typically end up incinerated.
Through a patented, water-free mechanical process, we transform this waste stream into rigid, durable packaging boards that protect electronics through up to 20 logistics cycles.

The numbers that matter

Compared to conventional corrugated cardboard, KIUD material production generates 82% lower CO₂ emissions, uses 80% less energy, and requires zero water.
In real logistics operations with Telia Norway, the full reusable system delivers 4.5× lower CO₂ emissions per shipment compared to single-use cardboard – including return transport.
The system is live and proven:

Telia Estonia: 6,000 devices circulate annually, up to 15 reuse cycles completed
Telia Norway: 10,000 boxes in active use, 10+ cycles per box
Telia Finland: 1,500 boxes running in B2B return programs

Boxes travel through standard postal and courier networks with no special handling required – no changes to existing logistics infrastructure needed.
Being selected as a finalist among global submissions, judged by an independent international panel of sustainability and packaging experts, is a recognition that the KIUD approach – turning textile waste into a working reusable packaging system – is credible, impactful and ready for scale.

We will share the results in November.
